The 24th Annual Collectors Night Art Auction and Dinner benefiting the Visual Arts Center of Richmond was held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Visual Arts Center.
Those in attendance began the evening mingling outside and enjoying the beautiful weather while viewing and bidding on silent auction items, which were located in one of two tents behind the Center. Some of the items up for auction that evening ranged from a trips to Napa Valley and Staunton, VA to memberships at local Richmond Museums.
Upon closing of the silent auction guest entered into the second tent to take their seats among a colorful array of table cloths and festive center pieces designed by children in programs at the Visual Arts Center. Introductions were made and awards presented to True Luck who received the Visionary Award and Hans Karras who was awarded the Distinguished Service Award. Also presented with an award was Visual Arts Center instructor Jim Valentine.
The live auction then began with the first items up for bid being two magnums of champagne. Bidding continued through dinner and dessert, with the highest bids of the night going to art work by Bill Fisher, a house in the south of France as well as a weekend stay at the Inn at Little Washington.
The 24th Annual Collectors Night came to a successful close with all proceeds from the evening supporting the exhibition and education programs of the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.
