coordinators2inc held the 7th Annual Kids Walk for Kids at University of Richmond's Robins Center on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 9:00am.
Walkers registered and filled up on bagels from Panera Bread giving them energy for the 14 laps around the indoor track at the Robins Center. Also walking and supporting the cause was a storm trooper from Star Wars, making the point that the force was with coordinators2inc and their walkers!
Rebecca Ricardo, Executive Director of coodinators2inc. welcomed the crowd to the annual event and introduced co-founder of coordinators2inc, Sharon Richardson. Richardson motivated the crowd with inspirational stories of children who were in foster care last year, but now with money raised from the 6th Annual Kids Walk for Kids, they have found permanent homes and placed with loving families. The money raised each year from the walk continues to help find families for children waiting in foster care.
As the walk finished awards were given for those who raised the most money.
coordinators2inc recognizes that adoption is a lifelong experience for birth parents, adoptive parents and the child who is adopted. As a result, they have become lifetime partners to anyone who is touched by adoption. This means they are available to adoptive families at each developmental stage of their child's life and provide services, support and lots of fun activities for all adopted children and their families who request them. It also means they are available to birth families as they explore their options and after they have made the transition to parenthood or adoptive placement.
