Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Richmond and the Tri-Cities held their 2nd Annual Black Tie and High Tops Gala and Auction on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the University of Richmond's Robins Center.
The estimated 200 people who gathered at the Robins Center in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Richmond and the Tri-Cities enjoyed the ambience of the venue, browsing the silent auction items, feasting on the wonderful food provided by White House Caterers and routing for their favorite NCAA Final Four basketball teams, with games available for viewing on screens in the Center.
Host for the evening was Wes McElroy from Sports Radio 910. Those in attendance were able to bid on such auction items provided by Segway of Richmond & Blackfin Restaurant, G-force Go karts & Bogeys sportspark, Fab'rik boutique, American Family Fitness, Dransfield Jewelry, Village Realty, James River Cellars and Maggianos Italy and McGeorgia Toyota.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is an established youth organization, that for more than 100 years has worked to develop youth mentoring programs that work. Their experienced approach to recruiting, screening, matching and supporting mentoring relationships has resulted in thousands of lasting relationships, and helped change the lives of young people across the country.
