Safe Harbor held their "Wine on Wednesdays" on March 18, 2009 at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Safe Harbor board members, staff and supporters enjoyed wines from a special wine list for that evenings event. Merlots, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blanc de Noirs and Riesling were just some of the many types of wines available for guests to taste. Those there to support Safe Harbors mission to save lives by providing education, advocacy, counseling and shelter to break the cycle of domestic violence disussed the great wines and their support for the cause they were all there for. Safe Harbor is a resource center for persons who have or are now presently experiencing domestic violence. They respect clients’ rights to make their own decisions for what is best for themselves and their families. The staff is there to provide education, support and referrals to other programs to help their clients to empower themselves to make choices for healthy relationships and healthy lifestyles. All of Safe Harbor’s services are provided free of charge and a portion of the evenings proceeds went to Safe Harbor.
