The National Kidney Foundation of the Virginias held their 2nd Annual Black and White Ball, on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Jepson Alumni Center at the University of Richmond. Guests were welcomed to the Jepson Center with luminated candles lining the walkway. Inside there was plenty of excitment with blackjack, roulette, craps and horseracing. The four horse races of the evening were The Derby, The Preakness, The Belmont and finishing up the evening, The Kidney Foundation Stakes. As those in attendance mingled and played the tables, wine tastings from various countries were available along with single malt scotch tastings and cigars.
The National Kidney Foundation of the Virginias, a major voluntary health organization, seeks to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.
